Meetup with Daniel Spiewak (this week !)

OK, we decided to go ahead and meet with daniel, even though not a lot of people seem to be able to make it on such short notice. Location is the Xebia office in Hilversum, which is the one location I can always arrange on short notice :)

Daniel, I will contact you about picking you up in Amsterdam at the end of the afternoon.

Daniel Spiewak, a well known name in Scala land, is in our little country for a few days and asks if anyone is interested in a meetup this thursday May 6th. Since our forum apparently stopped sending out notification emails, I have created this event just to notify you all. Here's what Daniel wrote:

Sorry for the short notice everyone, but there was a bit of a mixup and I forgot to pass the word along. :-)

I'll be in Amsterdam for the Profict Spring Camp on the 6th and 7th. Since the Spring Camp is on the 7th, that means I'm free to pursue other activities on the 6th! I always enjoy meeting with other Scala enthusiasts; and since Milwaukee doesn't have a Scala users group, it's not something I get to do on a regular basis.

So, if there's any interest in meeting, I would love to join you. I would be happy to do a presentation on any number of Scala topics (e.g. how we're using Scala at Novell, practical functional programming, or maybe even state of the art text parsing in Scala). Alternatively, I'd be just as happy joining you as a visiting member of the community.

I'll have to look into getting a location but if all else fails I can definitely offer the Xebia office for that evening.
